Synopsis

Amit Shah attacked the DMK government, calling it the most corrupt. He criticized Chief Minister MK Stalin and the 130th Constitutional Amendment Bill. Shah predicted a BJP, AIADMK, and NDA alliance government in Tamil Nadu. He accused Stalin and Sonia Gandhi of prioritizing dynastic politics. Shah asserted Narendra Modi will win and the NDA will return to power in 2026.

In a broadside against the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government, home minister Amit Shah on Friday called it the 'most corrupt' and said chief minister MK Stalin has no right to term the 130th Constitutional Amendment Bill a 'black Bill', alleging that the CM had himself carried out 'black deeds'.

As per the Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill, 2025, the Prime Minister, chief ministers and ministers can be removed from their post if they are jailed for more than 30 days.

"In the coming days, a government of the BJP, AIADMK and NDA allies is going to be formed in Tamil Nadu," he said at a public meeting in Tirunelveli. "The DMK government is the most corrupt in the country. They have done many scams...In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, our NDA alliance got 18% votes. Our ally AIADMK got 21% votes. If we add all of them, then about 39% of the votes are from the NDA."

Shah said the Opposition has questioned the need for this Bill. "Senior DMK ministers K Ponmudy and Senthil Balaji were in jail for eight months. They did not resign. Tell me, can you run the government while being in jail?" he said.

He even said that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who ran the government as per the Tamil classical didactic book, Thirukkural's guidance for an able, ideal ruler.

He alleged that like Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, Stalin, too, was prioritising dynastic politics over governance, alleging that their sole objective was to elevate their children to top political positions.

"Stalin's only agenda is to only make his son, Udhayanidhi, the chief minister. Sonia Gandhi's only intention is to make her son, Rahul Gandhi, the prime minister. I want to tell them both - this will not happen. Modi's victory is certain," Shah said, declaring that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance would return to power in the state in 2026.
