Prem Patnaik Visits Bhubaneswar for Health Discussions
Bhubaneswar: On Friday, Prem Patnaik, brother of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik, traveled from Delhi to Bhubaneswar to consult with medical professionals regarding the health of the former Chief Minister of Odisha.
Naveen Patnaik had been discharged from a local hospital on Wednesday evening after receiving treatment for dehydration.
A video released by the Leader of the Opposition's office showcased Prem engaging with doctors at Naveen Niwas, the residence of the BJD leader, alongside Naveen and his close associate VK Pandian.
Prem, the eldest son of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, is a significant figure in the state's political landscape, as the party he represents is named after his father.
Naveen Patnaik was admitted to a private hospital on Sunday evening for medical attention.
The 78-year-old former Chief Minister, who lives alone at Naveen Nivas, has his elder brother and family residing in Delhi. Their sister, Gita Mehta, passed away in 2023.
Prem was present with Naveen during his spine surgery in Mumbai back in June, and he was discharged in early July.
Following the surgery, Prem provided health updates about Naveen through video messages, expressing gratitude to the people of Odisha for their support and prayers.
With Naveen's recent health issues, Prem returned to Bhubaneswar to check on his brother's condition and consult with the doctors treating him.
