
New Delhi: India is rapidly touching new heights in the AI sector. The government’s Indiai Mission initiative and the interest of global tech companies have brought the country to the center of AI revolution. In this episode, Openai has announced to open its first office in India.
Union IT and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav wrote on his X post that India is uniquely positioned and will lead the next AI wave in the coming times. Openai’s CEO Sam Altman has also praised the boom of adopting AI in India. In the last one year, the number of Chatgpt users has increased 4 times.

Ashwini Vaishnav said that India is making trusted AI ecosystem under the Indiaai Mission. Openai’s support will play an important role in furthering this vision so that the benefit of AI can reach every citizen. Openai’s CEO Sam Altman has also written his X post that he will visit India in the month of September. Apart from this, the pace of adopting AI in India has been excellent. In the last one year, the number of Chatgpt users has increased 4 times.
The Government of India has launched the Indiaai Mission this year. Its purpose is to prepare computing infrastructure at large level. Creating indigenous foundational models is to support startups and research organization. Ashwini Vaishnav had informed in Parliament last month that India will host AI Impact Summit in February 2026. Its thick is to provide AI facilities to India and the world and bring closer to opportunity.
