Karnataka MLA KC Veerendra Detained in Betting Investigation; ED Seizes Assets Worth Rs 12 Crore

Arrest of KC Veerendra
KC Veerendra, the Member of Legislative Assembly representing Chitradurga in Karnataka, was apprehended by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday in Gangtok. This arrest is part of an investigation into illegal betting activities conducted both online and offline.
During the operation, the ED confiscated assets totaling around Rs 12 crore, which included approximately Rs 1 crore in foreign currency, gold jewelry valued at Rs 6 crore, and about 10 kilograms of silver items. Additionally, four vehicles were seized under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) of 2002.
