New Delhi: The last slam of the year is set to rewrite the history books, as US Open 2025 will offer the biggest prize pool in sports history. The United States Association (USTA) earlier made an official announcement that this year the tournament will pay players a record-breaking $90 million.
The prize money pool will mark an increase of 20% from last year’s $75 million. This record-breaking payout at the US Open has caught the attention of both players and fans. The association made concrete efforts to ensure a double-digit percentage increase not just in the final round, rather in all rounds of events for all players.
At last year’s US Open, winners Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka both received $3.6 million. This time it won’t be the singles players who will be hitting jackpots rather there has been a major increase in the doubles event.
The USTA even gave in $1 million for the winners of the mixed doubles competition that concluded on August 21 where Italians Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori overcame Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud 6-3 5-7 10-6.

The changes mark the highest in comparison to the other three Grand Slams. Wimbledon comes the closest, which offers the singles champion $4 million in prize money.
Australian Open singles champions this year (Jannik Sinner and Madison Keys) received $2.25 million each in prize money, while in the French Open 2025 (Carlos Alcaraz and Coco Gauff), they earned $2.97 million. The significant pay hikes were central to the demands raised by the world’s top players in their letter to the four majors this year.
