Presenter Mark Radcliffe says working on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show is one of the "worst jobs" he's ever done. Between 1991 and 2004, the 67-year-old hosted a variety of shows for the station, alongside Marc Riley.
In 1997, the duo took on hosting duties for the Radio 1 Breakfast Show, after Chris Evans stepped away following just under two years in the role.
By October however, the pair were shifted to the afternoon slot, following a reported dip in listeners.
In a new interview, Mark insisted that taking on the show is one of his biggest career regrets.

Quizzed by The Guardian on his most embarrassing moment, he said: "The Radio 1 Breakfast Show was an embarrassing moment that lasted for nine months."
Not stopping there, he listed the show as one of the "worst jobs" he's ever done, alongside a shift at a bottle factory.
Recalling the brutal backlash written about him at the time, Mark went on to say: "This was said about me in a Radio 1 focus group, 'I don't pay my licence fee to hear scummy northerners'."
While the Radio 1 Breakfast Show didn't go as well as the pair hoped, he and his co-star thrived in their afternoon slot for seven years.

Mark now fronts The Folk Show on BBC Radio 2, as well as the programme Radcliffe and [Stuart] Maconie on BBC Radio 6 at weekends.
As for Chris, the presenter previously stepped away from his role on BBC Radio 1, after his request to work a four-day week was declined.
At the time, reports claimed he was struggling to juggle the job with Channel 4's TFI Friday, his show which featured live music, celebrity chat, outlandish stunts and in-jokes.
In 2009, he said of his exit: "I was stupid, no doubt about that. I was ungrateful. I had this brilliant career and messed it up."
Chris later became a major presence on BBC Radio 2, first with a Drivetime show followed by the Radio 2 Breakfast Show.
After leaving the latter role in 2018 to go and host Virgin Radio's Breakfast Show, he said: "As Sir Terry said before me, there's never a right time to leave something you love but there might be a wrong time if you hang on too long.
"The Breakfast Show is as positive, useful, sunny and inclusive as it has ever been. In fine shape for its next custodian.
"Whoever that turns out to be, I wish them all the very best, they are in for an absolute blast."
The presenter was later replaced by Zoe Ball, who handed the baton over to Scott Mills earlier this year.
