The race to sign AS Monaco midfielder Soungoutou Magassa (21) is heating up. West Ham United joined Nottingham Forest in registering their interest in the player in recent hours. Serie A side Atalanta are now showing an interest in the France youth international, as per a report from Market football.
As revealed by The Guardian, West Ham are in advanced talks to sign Magassa, who has been the subject of approaches from Nottingham Forest. The Hammers’ first offer, worth €16m plus an extra €2m in bonuses, was met with a counter proposition from Monegasques, who are nonetheless open to selling their academy product before the closure of the transfer window.
Magassa himself has already given the green light to a move to West Ham, with whom he would sign a six-year deal. Atalanta could now provide some late competition for his signature. The Italian side are yet to submit a bid but their interest is described as “strong” by Market football.
