Rain havoc in north-west India
According to the Meteorological Department, rain activities in northwest India will intensify between 24 and 26 August. Heavy rains are expected at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana (24-27 August), Uttar Pradesh (24-25 August), Punjab (24-26 August) and Jammu and Kashmir (24 August).
Apart from this, there is also a possibility of thunder and lightning in these areas with light to moderate rains for the next five days.
Heavy rain in Jharkhand and Odisha
Jharkhand and Odisha are expected to have heavy rains from 24 to 26 August due to cyclonic systems built in West Bengal and surrounding areas.
Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, Garhwa, Palamu, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla, Simdega, Chatra, Khunti, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Giridih, Bokaro and Dhanbad have a yellow alert of heavy rains with strong winds and roaring in Dhanbad. On August 25, there may be heavy rains in Garhwa, Palamu, Latehar, Simdega, West Singhbhum and Khunti.
Heavy rains in Gujarat and Maharashtra
A new round of rain will begin in Gujarat from 25 August. There is a possibility of heavy rains in Konkan on August 25 and Central Maharashtra on 26 August. From 26 to 28 August, Ghat areas of Konkan, Goa and Central Maharashtra may receive very heavy rains. In these coastal areas, strong winds can also blow at a speed of 40-50 km/h.
Red and Orange Alerts in Rajasthan
For the last two days, life has been affected by continuous rains in Kota, Bundi and Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for very heavy rains in Bhilwara and Chittorgarh. At the same time, Bundi, Kota, Pali, Rajsamand, Udaipur, Dungarpur, Banswara, Jalore and Sirohi have heavy rains orange alerts.
Medium rain estimates in Delhi
The minimum temperature in Delhi on Saturday was 25.7 degrees Celsius, which is 0.8 degrees below the average. The Meteorological Department has predicted cloudy and moderate rains on Saturday and Sunday.
