Health Desk. Liver is a part of the body that works silently, but by the time it is bad, it is often too late. The risk of liver diseases is increasing rapidly due to reasons like our changing lifestyle, unhealthy diet, alcohol consumption, obesity and stress. In such a situation, if you want to keep the liver healthy, then include these 4 superfoods in your plate.
1. Amla: Vitamin C treasure
Amla is considered as nectar in Ayurveda. It helps in removing toxic elements from the body and cleansing the liver. It contains plenty of antioxidants that protect the liver from the damage caused by free radicals. Drinking an amla or Amla juice daily is very beneficial.
2. Turmeric: Natural detoxifier
Curcumin found in turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. It helps reduce liver inflammation and detox it. Taking turmeric with turmeric milk or lukewarm water is considered a panacea for liver health.
3. Garlic: Liver’s natural partner
Garlic contains sulfur compounds that activate liver enzymes. These enzymes help to remove the toxins present in the body. Also, garlic also contains alicin and selenium, which protect the liver from damage. Eating one or two buds of garlic on an empty stomach is beneficial for liver.
4. Beetroot (Beet): Blessing for both blood and liver
