In his post-match press conference, following Marseille’s 5-2 win against Paris FC, Roberto De Zerbi announced that he is willing to give Adrien Rabiot (30) a second chance at OM. The midfielder has been placed on the transfer list after an altercation involving Jonathan Rowe (23) in the aftermath of their 1-0 defeat to Rennes on the opening day of the season.
The 30-year-old was told he no longer had a place at the club following the heated incident. However, following the latest quotes from the former Brighton head coach, there could be yet another sting in the tail of the story that continues to have an effect almost a week later. Rabiot was not featured in De Zerbi’s squad in their match against the French capital club, and was expected to find a new club before the end of the window.
A change of heart?
The OM head coach’s latest quotes reveal that he may have changed his mind and indicate a willingness to reintegrate the France international midfielder into his squad. Commenting on the situation De Zerbi said, “Even if he made a mistake, I hope there is an opportunity to rebuild things. I hope that things can get better.”
