Ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced a white-ball series with the Bangladesh National Cricket Team.
The Afghanistan National Cricket Team is currently gearing up for the Asia Cup 2025, starting on September 9 in the UAE.
They have been drafted in Group B alongside Bangladesh, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka for the upcoming continental tournament. The Afghan side will kick off their Asia Cup 2025 campaign against Hong Kong, China, on September 9 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Afghanistan set to host Bangladesh in the white-ball series after the Asia Cup 2025
The final of the Asia Cup 2025 is scheduled for September 28, but the entertainment will not finish there, as the fans are set for another treat right after the continental tournament. Afghanistan will be hosting Bangladesh in the white-ball series in the UAE from October 2 to 14.
Both teams are set to play three T20Is and three ODIs. The white-ball series will start with the three-match T20I series, with matches scheduled on October 2, 3, and 5. After the shorter format's matches, the focus will shift to the ODI leg, with the matches scheduled for October 8, 11, and 14.
Meanwhile, the ACB sees the Bangladesh series as a major step in strengthening ties with the Asian country. For Bangladesh, it is a golden chance to test themselves against Afghanistan's rising stars ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.
What do ACB and BCB on the AFG vs BAN Series?
ACB CEO Naseeb Khan said in an official statement, "We are proud to host Bangladesh in this highly anticipated series.
