Katie Sackhoff , one of the cast members of the hit ‘ Star Wars ’ spin-off, ‘ The Mandalorian ’, recently opened up about her experience while working on the show. She delved into the challenges she faced on the sets, and even shared how the experience of playing her character was “very scary.” She also added that “It broke me.”

The ‘Star Wars’ spin-off series has managed to garner a lot of popularity ever since its release. As per reports from The Hollywood Reporter, the actress had a hard time playing her role on the small screen and even shared that the experience was very scary for her.

The actress has been playing her ‘Mandalorian’ character Bo-Katan Kryze for the past couple of years, though only as a voice artist for some of the series’ animated projects like ‘The Clone Wars’ and ‘Rebels’. Playing the same thing on screen proved to be hard for her, to the point that her manager at the time had told her to ‘take it easy’. What had followed was a fight and a major mishap.

Sackhoff shared, “I lost it at him one day and started screaming: ‘You’ve told me my entire life this is easy for me and it’s not fucking easy and now I’m falling apart.'” The actress later on ended up firing him and hiring a new manager as well as an acting coach, who all managed to help her deal with her emotions better, and train well for her filming projects as well.

Kate also added during the interview that she did not feel connected to her character “in her stomach”, which also affected the way she embraced the role. She also added, “I lost all of my confidence after Mandalorian — all of it”. While talking about her character, she also added that she did not understand her, and that she did not understand or know how to “find her”.

This all took a lot of toll on her mental health. “Very scary. It broke me. It just broke me, where I started doubting everything about myself. I’m not a strong auditioner on tape, and I was having to put myself on tape. I wasn’t booking anything. And for three years, I basically didn’t work. And it just destroyed my confidence. I broke down and was like crying … I’m not OK, man, I’m so broken, I have no confidence left. I’m lost,” the actress added along.
