KARACHI_ Teen content creator Talha Ahmed, popular for his cheerful and upbeat social media presence, has rejoined Instagram after being temporarily banned for three days. His return came with a video message where he spoke about the controversy surrounding the suspension and thanked his fans.

Talha, with a following of more than half a million followers, initially revealed on August 21 that his account was suspended by Instagram. The company mentioned breach of its policies but has allegedly not given clear details about why the suspension took place. The suspension raised eyebrows among his followers, who pointed out that he does not post objectionable and harmful content on his handles.

Speculation soon circulated that the suspension could have been age-. Although Instagram does permit account holders over 13 years to keep their accounts, some features remain off-limits to under-18s. Talha’s supporters maintained, however, that his material—spanning from funny clips to upbeat remarks—hardly warranted it.

In his return video, the young artist attributed his reinstatement to “the grace of Allah” and the prayers and endorsements of his fans and friends. “I am truly thankful for the countless messages I received during these days,” he said smiling into the camera. He conceded that the abrupt suspension baffled him. “I don’t understand why, after four or five months of uninterrupted content, Instagram suddenly deactivated my account.”. And if it had been so because of fake news, then I have only one reaction.”

He then quoted a couplet: “We alone know the courage of expression; when silence spreads, it is we who will speak.”

Talha assured his followers that he had plenty of new content stored up and assured them of continuing to spread smiles and positivity. “Stay connected,” he entreated, adding that he hoped to put a smile on his followers’ faces as ever.

The brief disruption, far from discouraging him, seemed to fuel his determination. “This is not just my account,” he said, “it’s a space where I share happiness with all of you. And I will keep doing that.”

For most fans, Talha’s return is a reminder of the effort it takes young online creators to deal with platforms that can sometimes behave in uncertain ways. His return has nonetheless been warmly greeted on all social media, though.
