Jaishankar's Remarks on US-Pakistan Relations
During a recent statement, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar expressed his concerns regarding the growing relationship between the United States and Pakistan. He pointed out that both countries share a complex history, which they often tend to ignore. Jaishankar specifically referenced Abbottabad, the location where Osama bin Laden was discovered, emphasizing the irony of the situation.
In response to inquiries about the increasing camaraderie between the US and Pakistan following recent military tensions with India, Jaishankar remarked, "They have a history with each other. And they have a history of overlooking their history. It is the same military that went into Abbottabad (in Pakistan) and found who (Bin Laden) there?"
This statement underscores the ongoing geopolitical dynamics and the implications of historical events on current international relations.
