Akshay Kumar Admits 'Not Reading' Any Of Twinkle Khanna's Books, Unlike His Film Contracts

Akshay Kumar has long been admired not only for his versatility as an actor but also for his razor-sharp wit and effortless sense of humour. Time and again, both on stage and off it, he has showcased his knack for spontaneous comebacks and playful banter.

He recently attended the book launch of ‘My Body Already Knows’ by author Nidhi Bhanushali Pandya, where he shared that he has not read a single book, not even those written by his wife, Twinkle Khanna.

Akshay Kumar said, “Mai aapko bataa du, ki main waise koi kitaab padhta nahi hoon, meri wife lekhak hai, aur maine unki bhi koi kitaab nahi padhi. Kyonki agar main kitaab padhne baithta hoon to mere aankh se aansu aa jaate hain, but main agreements poora padhta hoon (Let me tell you, I don’t really read books. My wife is an author, yet I haven’t read any of her books either. The reason is, whenever I sit down to read a book, tears start rolling down my eyes. But when it comes to agreements, I read every single word carefully)”.

Reactions to Akshay Kumar’s Statement

While some users are appreciating Akshay Kumar’s honesty, some of them said that it is all about one’s taste.

Some of them also said that why would he read the books when he doesn’t even memorise his own lines? (Akshay has been caught reading from teleprompter twice.)

One user said, “Meh, I am a huge reader but they are some genres I would hate to read. I don't think I would enjoy reading Twinkle books. So I can't blame him.”

On the work front, Akshay Kumar will next be seen in Jolly LLB 3 opposite Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla.

Jolly LLB 3 is slated for release on September 19.
