
Isro Gaganyaan Mission: A new golden chapter has been added to India’s space journey. ISRO successfully completed the first air drop test (IADT-01) very important for the Gaganyaan Mission. In this test, the capacity of a parachute -based system was tested, so that the safe landing of Indian astronauts could be ensured while returning from space.
The test was conducted from an airbase in Andhra Pradesh in collaboration with the Indian Air Force, DRDO, Indian Navy and Coast Guard. ISRO posted on ‘X’ (x) and said, “The first Integrated Air Drop Test (IADT-01) of the parachute-based decoration system for Gaganyaan Mission was successful. This achievement is the result of joint hard work of all associate institutions.”
The first without human flight in December
ISRO chief V. Narayanan announced at the press conference that Gaganyaan’s first unscrupulous flight (G1 mission) will take place in December this year. The Half-Humanoid robot ‘Vyommitra’ will travel to space in this flight. Narayanan said that about 80% of the work of Gaganyaan Mission has been completed. So far, about 7,700 tests have been done and the remaining 2,300 Tests will be completed by March next year.
Successful test of human rated rocket
Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh told in Parliament that India’s first human rated launch vehicle (HLVM3) has been fully developed and successful in testing. This will be the same rocket that will take the Indian astronauts to the Gaganyaan Mission.
Singh informed that the propption system of crew modules and service modules has been successfully tested. Along with this, five different motors of crew escape system (CES) were developed and their static test was completed. Changes in control centers, training facilities and launch pads have also been completed for Gaganyaan.
Precar and recovery mission also ready
ISRO had already launched Test Vehicle-D1 (TV-D1) to check CES. Now the activities of TV-D2 and IADT-01 are going on. Along with this, ground networks and communication systems have also been prepared. A recovery plan has been made by including the Indian Navy and Coast Guard. That is, the astronauts will be rescued from the sea when they return safely.
Big flights of future
After Gaganyaan-1, India will make the first manned Gaganyaan mission in 2027. After this, in 2028, Chandrayaan-4, then Venus planet mission, and India aims to launch its ‘India Space Station’ by 2035. Dr. Jitendra Singh further informed that India is preparing to send its first astronaut to the moon by 2040.
Proud moment for India
The Gaganyaan Mission will make India in the queue of select countries who have sent humans into space. This is not just a scientific achievement but a winging step to the dreams of 140 crore Indians. ISRO says that the December flight is just the beginning. In the coming decade, India will be counted among the world’s leading forces in space research.
