Cheteshwar Pujara Makes Big Announcement: Cheteshwar Pujara, the trusted batsman of the Indian Test cricket team, announced his retirement from competitive cricket on Sunday. Pujara, who has been out of the team for the last two years, took this decision without any regret and said that he considers himself lucky that he got a chance to play for the country for so long.

Pujara while talking to reporters in his hometown said that I have no regrets. I am grateful to my family and all those who supported me in my journey. He has recently started work as a commentator in England and indicated that now his career will move in this direction.

Pujara made his debut in 2010

Pujara made his Test debut against Australia in 2010 and scored 7195 runs in 103 Tests, including 19 centuries. His average exceeded 43, which reflects his continuity and perseverance. Especially at number three, he played a role as the backbone of Indian batting for a decade.

Australia was the most memorable tour

His most memorable series was Australia in 2018-19, where he scored 521 runs with three centuries and faced 1258 balls. The series became the basis of India’s historic victory and became an example of Pujara’s restrained batting. Remembering the beginning of his career, Pujara got emotional. He said that debuting in 2010 under the captaincy of Mahi Bhai was like a dream come true for him, because at that time the team included veterans like Sachin, Dravid, Laxman, Sehwag.

He also remembered his late mother Reena Pujara on the occasion, who died in 2005. Pujara said that his mother always used to say that he would play for India one day and his dream came true. At the same time, he also thanked his spiritual guru Haricharan Das Ji Maharaj, whose teachings helped to keep him mentally balanced.

Cheteshwar Pujara’s retirement is the end of an era of Indian cricket. Even if he does not appear on the field anymore, but his legacy and dedication to cricket will always inspire.
