Brighton and Hove Albion FC winger Facundo Buonanotte (20) has agreed to join Ligue 1 side Lyon, according to The team. But there’s a catch, the Seagulls would rather send the Argentine international on loan to one of their Premier League rivals, with a view to toughening him up. Gones are in the market for a right-sided winger since Ernest Nuamah’s season-ending ACL tear in April. Lyon have already signed Sparta Prague winger Adac Karabec on loan, but the Czech is currently seen as a stopgap.
Buananotte has reportedly been enthused following a round of talks with Lyon head coach Paulo Fonseca. The Argentine believes joining Lyon would be the ideal next step for his blossoming career. Furthermore, he would feature in the Europa League and link up with his fellow Argentine international Nicolas Tagliafico.
Lyon remain in talks with Brighton to convince the Seagulls to part ways with Buonanotte on loan with no option to buy. However, the race to sign Buonanotte is set to heat up as Nottingham Forest and Borussia Dortmund are also interested in the 20-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Leicester City FC.
