Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siyam welcomed Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar at Dhaka Airport on Saturday. For the first time after 2012, a Pakistani leader has reached Bangladesh. Therefore, this journey is considered important. The purpose of Dar is to make a new beginning in relationships with Bangladesh, especially at a time when Sheikh Hasina is out of power and there is a possibility of change in Bangladesh’s foreign policy with neighboring countries. The Pakistani Foreign Minister was running on Bangladesh in April itself, but the journey had to be postponed due to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and the increasing tension from India. In April, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Aamna Baloch visited Bangladesh after 15 years and started a diplomatic talks.

Half a dozen agreements will be signed

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister will meet Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs advisor Tauheed Hussain on Sunday. During this time, half a dozen agreements between the two countries and the signing of MoU are prepared. Along with this, Dar will call a courtesy call to the interim government chief Muhammad Yunus. Pakistan is also strengthening its parts from China to surround India all -round. Ishaq Dar also met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi a few days ago. During the strategic dialogue in Islamabad, issues like China-Pakistan Economic Corridor 2.0, trade and multilateral cooperation were also intensively discussed. Pakistan is now trying to strengthen its position in Asia with its oldest ally China once again.

This journey must have been affected by India

India and Pakistan have never been good since the country’s partition. Three times Pakistan has attacked India and has suffered defeat in every war. At the same time, Pakistan attacked Bangladesh (East Pakistan). Then India took more than 90 thousand soldiers of Pakistan hostage and Bangladesh made a new country. After this, Ristay from Pakistan was worse. On the other hand, after the removal of Sheikh Hasina, the distance between Bangladesh and India has also increased. Pakistan is now trying to improve the relationship with Dhaka by taking advantage of this situation. Pakistan wants it to support Bangladesh against India in future. General elections are going to be held in Bangladesh next year and if there is a change of power, India-Bangladesh relations can return back on track. Apart from this, in recent times, India and China’s relations are also being improved. Later this month, PM Narendra Modi will attend the SCO meeting to be held in China. In such a situation, this strategy of Pakistan may not be so successful.
