Israel Attacks Yemen: The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) on Sunday launched a fierce attack on the hounds of Huti rebels in Sana, the capital of Yemen. Huti security sources said that the attack took place at a municipal building in Sana and there were reports of casualties. Local people said that the bombing occurred near Rashtrapati Bhavan and missile locations. The video of the attack is becoming increasingly viral on social media.

Stress continues since the Gaza war

The attack occurred two days after the incident when the huts fired a cluster missile on Israel. The cluster missile is a weapon that burst into the air and drops many small bombs. The Israeli Air Force official said that this was the first time since 2023 when the huts fired a cluster bomb on Israel. According to the official, this is a “new threat” because it is difficult to stop such weapons and also shows that the huts are getting more advanced technology from Iran.

Israel’s newspaper Mariv said that similar attacks were carried out in the port of the Red Sea occupied by the huts. Huti rebels have been carrying out missiles and drone attacks on Israel since the Gaza War began in October 2023. He says that they are all doing this in support of the Palestinians. For almost two years, they have also been attacking business ships in the Red Sea.

Israel retaliated

The newspaper reported that most missiles are destroyed before reaching Israel, but Israel has been retaliating due to frequent attacks. On August 17, Israel said that it attacked an energy center in Sana. Sunday’s attack is considered to be the first major attack on Sanaa.

However, the direct losses from the attacks of the huts are very low, but the use of their new and dangerous weapons is spreading throughout the area out of the war. Especially the use of cluster weapons shows that they are getting stronger support from Iran.
