Rain is causing havoc in Rajasthan, alert in 16 districts, schools also closed

Rajasthan rain alert: With the start of the new monsoon phase in Rajasthan, the process of rain continues. In many districts, there has been a havoc of brightening and celestial lightning along with heavy rains. The Meteorological Department has issued rain alert in 16 districts of the state on Monday, 25 August. In view of the situation, a holiday has also been declared in schools in 19 districts.

Heavy rains in many districts

Nagaur was the most affected in the last 24 hours, where 173 mm of rain was recorded. There was 137 mm rains in Deh, 112 mm in Jayal, 99 mm in Khivansar, 92 mm in Chhoti Khatu and 91 mm in Lunkaransar in Bikaner. 61 mm of water rained in Ajmer city and 51 mm in Nasirabad. Similarly, heavy rains were also recorded in Dholpur, Dausa, Hanumangarh, Jodhpur and many parts of Sirohi.

91 people died so far

As a result of the Disaster Management Department, 91 people have lost their lives in the state during this monsoon season (15 June to 24 August). Of these, 44 people were killed due to flowing or drowning and 24 people were killed by lightning. Apart from this, 51 people have been injured in various accidents. The government has announced a compensation of four lakh rupees to the families of the deceased. At the same time, 57 SDRF and 7 teams of NDRF are engaged in relief and rescue operations. So far 792 people have been evacuated.

Things worsen in Bundi

Torrential rains in Bundi district have created serious conditions. The part of the State Highway 34 was washed away by the strong currents of water, while about one kilometer of the highway 24 was damaged. The river was swept away from Khatkad to Nainwa Marg, causing contact of many villages. In view of the flood -like situation, the administration has increased vigilance and has declared a holiday in all government and private schools.

Meteorological Department Warning

According to the Meteorological Center Jaipur, there is currently a cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan. The monsoon trough is passing through Bikaner, Jaipur, Gwalior and Prayagraj, due to which there is a possibility of heavy rains in the state for the next three days. The department has advised people to live in safe places and take precautions.
