'Mahavatar Narsimha' box office collection day 31: Animated mythological drama crosses Rs 231 crore

The mythological animated drama 'Mahavatar Narsimha' is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office, even after completing a month-long theatrical run. Released on July 25, the Ashwin Kumar directorial entered its fifth week with remarkable momentum, drawing audiences steadily across multiple languages. On its 31st day, the film saw another strong jump over the weekend, collecting an impressive Rs 6.15 crore, according to early estimates.

The film registered Rs 1.85 crore on its fifth Friday, Day 29 and saw a significant rise with Rs 5 crore on Saturday, Day 30, followed by a Sunday boost of Rs 6.15 crore. With these figures, Mahavatar Narsimha has now taken its total domestic collection to a staggering Rs 231.75 crore, a phenomenal milestone for an animated film in Indian cinema. The week four earnings alone stood at Rs 30.4 crore, showing its solid hold over audiences despite new releases.

Theatre occupancy

In Hindi 2D format, the film recorded an overall occupancy of 24.92% on Sunday, August 24, 2025. The morning shows started at 15.78%, which rose steadily through the day, with afternoon shows at 28.89% and evening shows at a strong 36.21%. The night shows ended slightly lower at 18.79%.


The Hindi 3D version performed even better, achieving an overall occupancy of 31.74% on the same day. Morning shows began at 19.62%, which jumped to 41.06% in the afternoon and peaked at 44.38% during the evening. The night shows closed at 21.89%.

'Mahavatar Narsimha' continued to dominate in the Telugu market, where it had an impressive overall occupancy of 37.09% on Day 31. Morning shows began with 23.85%, which surged to 44.43% by the afternoon. The evening witnessed the highest response at 55.25%, before wrapping up the day at 24.84% during night shows.
