Indore: Questions are being raised on the functioning of the Municipal Corporation once again in the clean city of Indore of Madhya Pradesh. A case of setting up the naming boards of roads without permission in Chandan Nagar area and payment of lakhs of rupees for them has come to light. This disturbance has put the functioning of the corporation in the dock.

Non -approval board and payment game

These boards installed in the streets of Chandan Nagar were installed by Ward No. 2 councilor Fatma Rafiq Khan without the approval of the municipal corporation. Surprisingly, for these boards, the corporation paid lakhs of rupees without the acceptance of MIC (Mayor-in-Counsers). This matter has now caught up and local people are raising questions about it.

Investigation committee constituted immediately

As soon as the matter came to light, corporator Shivam Verma immediately took action and constituted a three -member inquiry committee. This committee has been directed to submit its report within five days. Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava described it as a serious matter and said that it is completely against the rules. He initially blamed the negligence of the Deputy Minister and Executive Engineer. The mayor clearly stated that strict action will be taken against those found guilty in the investigation.

Who will investigate?

The inqu Initial investigation revealed that the oral instructions of the traffic department officials were cited for these boards installed in Zone-15, Ward-2. But in the investigation of the documents, it was revealed that there has been a huge irregularity in the bill verification and payment.

Payment in record time

Generally, contractors have to wait for months for payment, but in this case the files were ready in a few days and the bill was also paid. This unusual boom of the accounting branch has also raised many questions. People are asking why was so hurry?

Councilor got the work done directly from the contractor

The dispute deepened when it was discovered that Councilor Fatma Rafiq Khan contacted the contractor directly without the permission of the officials and got these boards installed. The Mayor said that this aspect will also be investigated intense. He made it clear that no such work is possible without the information and approval of the officials.

There were complaints from two months ago

About two months ago, these boards were installed at Sakina Manzil, Gausia Road, Khwaja Road and Raza Gate. At that time too, the mayor and the local MLA objected to this. According to the rules, no street or locality can be named without MIC approval. At that time, the authorities had put the responsibility on the contractor, but now it is clear from the documents that the bill was verified at the zone level and paid. At present, no FIR has been registered in this case yet.
