
Ahmedabad. Sports Minister Mansukh Mandavia said on Sunday that India is aimed at the top five countries in the world by 2047. Mandavia said that India has made unprecedented progress in the sports sector under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many reforms have been made in the field.

Mandavia said during the inauguration ceremony of the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship here on Sunday, “The Prime Minister has targeted to include the country in the top 10 sports in the world in the next 10 years. We have filed a claim for the Olympics in 2036. In 2047, we will celebrate the completion of 100 years of our independence and Prime Minister Modi has targeted to join the top five countries in the world by then. ,
He said, “To create an ecosystem in sports, we made a plan ‘Target Podium Olympics’ to make the country progress in sports and through this scheme, the country’s top players are getting the best support so that they play their game with full dedication. ,
The minister said that the demand of the hour is that a sports ecosystem should be created in the country and the government is dedicated to making it.
