
India Squad for Cafa Nations Cup: The 23 -member Indian team has been announced for the upcoming CAFA Nations Cup to be played in Tajikistan. The new Indian coach Khalid Jamil announced the team on Monday, saying that he was not troubled by the absence of Mohun Bagan players. Whatever resources they have, they will use them.

Actually, Kolkata’s Mohun Bagan Club’s early players were seven names. The club has refused to release its players, citing the risk of injury before the AFC Champions League 2 match starting on 16 September. However, Indian coach Jamil, taking a practical stance, said that he would work with the resources available with him.
Announcing the team in Bengaluru, Jamil said, “Whatever resources I have or available, they have to be used. The attitude of senior players like Anwar (Ali) and Sandesh (Jhingan) has been very good. I have got full support and I have no problem.” He further said, “Mohun Bagan players are not available, the rest of the players have come. I never felt that their mind is distracted. They know that they have to do well after landing on the field. My preparation is for the tournament.”
Jamil said, “In the coming days, a mutual understanding between the clubs will develop. And he hoped for better coordination for selection in the national team in the future. Jamil also clarified the situation about Sunil Chhetri, which was not included in the team. He said,” After this match, Sunil will be available. If he is fit, he is welcome. ” He indicated that this experienced striker could return to the end of the season.
Let us know that India has been placed in Group B of CAFA Nations Cup and it will soon leave for Sehor, Tajikistan. Blue Tigers will face the hosts on August 29, from Iran on 1 September and Afghanistan on 4 September. The playoffs and finals for the third place will be held on 8 September in Handor and Tashkent respectively.
