Youth Empowerment Initiative in Himachal Pradesh
New Delhi— In a significant effort to empower the youth, Shrey Awasthi, the State Coordinator for the Himachal Unemployed Youth Federation, met with Union Minister of State for MSME, Employment & Labour, Smt. Shobha Karandlaje in New Delhi today. He urged for the establishment of a dedicated employment policy aimed at the youth of Himachal Pradesh.
Awasthi expressed his worries regarding the increasing unemployment rates in the state, highlighting that many skilled young individuals are being forced to relocate to major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru in search of better job prospects. He remarked, “The youth of Himachal are brimming with talent and potential, yet the lack of local opportunities drives them away. The central government must implement a special policy that ensures equal job opportunities within our state.”
As a symbolic act, Awasthi gifted his book “Himachal’s Youth Beyond Govt Jobs” along with a traditional Himachali cap to the Union Minister, symbolizing the aspirations, culture, and resilience of the youth in the region.
This meeting is being recognized as a pivotal moment in the campaign for youth-focused policy changes, with the hope that the central government will take tangible actions to leverage the vibrant workforce of Himachal Pradesh, allowing them to flourish in their own homeland.
