Introduction to the Scout Lineup
Indian Motorcycles, the renowned American cruiser manufacturer, has officially introduced its full Scout lineup in India. This collection features a total of eight models, with prices commencing at ₹12.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The models are equipped with either a 999cc or a 1,250cc engine. The three Sixty variants utilize the same fundamental engine and chassis, each showcasing unique styling. These models include the Scout Sixty Classic, Scout Sixty Bobber, and Sport Scout Sixty.
Design Features of the Models
The Classic variants embody the traditional cruiser look, while the Bobber presents a minimalist, blacked-out aesthetic.
Variants and Engine Specifications
Each motorcycle in the Indian Scout series is available in various trim levels. The Sixty models are offered in two versions – Standard and Limited. The Standard variant features a digital-analogue gauge, full LED lighting, a sleek black paint finish, and dual-channel ABS. The Limited version enhances this with traction control, three riding modes (Sport, Standard, and Tour), cruise control, additional paint options, and a USB charging port.
Advanced Features in Higher Variants
For the 1,250cc Scout models, all variants except the 101 Scout come with a Limited + Tech option. This variant upgrades the digital-analog display to a 4-inch color TFT touchscreen and includes keyless ignition. The TFT system also offers features such as onboard navigation, towing/accident alerts, vehicle locator, and multiple display configurations.
Pricing and Competitors
The Scout lineup is priced between ₹12.99 lakh and ₹16.15 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Choosing the Limited or Limited + Tech packages will result in a price increase, although the exact additional cost is not disclosed. In India, the primary competitors for the Indian Scout models are Harley-Davidson’s Sportster series, which ranges from ₹13.51 lakh (Nightster) to ₹16.71 lakh (Sportster S). Indian Motorcycles currently operates six dealerships across Delhi, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kochi. Prospective buyers are encouraged to contact an authorized dealer for further details.
