Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini proposed proposal

Haryana News: The Haryana Legislative Assembly today passed a unanimous resolution on the occasion of the 350th Martyrdom Day of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji to pay his tribute to him. The proposal was submitted by Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini during the ongoing monsoon session of Haryana Legislative Assembly.

The Chief Minister paid tribute to Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji and said that this year is the 350th martyrdom jubilee of the ninth Sikh Guru and ‘Hind Ki Chadar’, Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. The House expressed deep reverence for the supreme sacrifice made by Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib ji and also resolved to celebrate this historical occasion in a dignity and soulful manner.

While reading the proposal, the Chief Minister said that in November 1675, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib ji remembers the highest sacrifice of his life in Chandni Chowk in Delhi, to protect the right to faith and freedom of conscience. His follower Bhai Mati Das ji was cut from the saw, Bhai Sati Das ji was burnt in cotton and brother Dayala ji was boiled alive in a hot water pan. He embraced martyrdom with unwavering belief. This sacrifice is a symbol of their courage and determination towards religion. He said that this House also remembers that Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib ji had sacrificed his life to protect the dignity and religious freedom of humanity. When Kashmiri Pandit came to Shri Anandpur Sahib to forcibly convert on conversion, Guru Sahib decided to protect religion by sacrificing his life so that he could live with respect and protect his faith.

Fortunately, Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib ji had a deep connection with the land of Haryana. During his visits, Guru Sahib came to Kurukshetra, Pihowa, Kaithal, Jind, Ambala, Cheeka and Rohtak and sanctified this land and gave the eternal message of truth, tolerance and fearlessness. The holy gurudwaras located at these places, such as Gurudwara Dhamtan Sahib in Jind and Gurudwara Manji Sahib and Gurudwara Shri Sheeshganj Sahib in Ambala, remind us of their blessings and teachings.

Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that this House gratefully remembers the special role of brother Jaita ji. He took the head of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji from Delhi to Shri Anandpur Sahib with unmatched valor. Historical details confirmed that during this holy journey, brother Jaita ji went through various parts of Haryana. These include villages Badkhalsa, Karnal and Ambala near Sonepat. At that time he received heavy support from the people. This establishes a permanent relationship with Haryana with the legacy of martyrdom of Guru Sahib.

He said that this house also remembers the highest sacrifice of Shaheed Kushal Singh Dahiya ji of village Badkhalsa in Sonepat district. As it is recorded in history, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji was taken to the head of the Mughal army in the village of Badkhalasa, then Shri Kushal Singh Dahiya ji offered his head to confuse the Mughal soldiers. As a result, the holy head of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji could be taken safely to Shri Anandpur Sahib. This house pays homage to the martyr Kushal Singh Dahiya ji, paying obeisance to him.

The martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib ji, Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, Bhai Dayala Ji and Kushal Singh Dahiya ji is not only a glorious chapter in our national history, but is also an eternal and universal symbol of resistance against atrocities and oppression. His unique courage keeps inspiring humanity to stay firm towards justice, truth and religion. The House believes that as a true tribute to the sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, his immortal teachings need to be conveyed to every citizen of Haryana so that the pride tradition of mutual support and brotherhood in the state is unwavering.
