Rennes are pushing to sign Belgium international striker Lucas Stassin (20) from Ligue 2 side Saint-Etienne, according to Sacha Tables. The 20-year-old centre-forward is Rennes’ priority target to bolster Habib Beye’s options upfront. Rennes are in the market for a centre-forward after parting ways with France youth international Arnaud Kalimuendo, who joined Nottingham Forest.
Rennes were previously interested in Sporting CP striker Conrad Harder, but the Dane is now expected to join AC Milan. Market football adds that The Greens will “do everything” to retain Stassin. The latter was Saint-Etienne’s most decisive player last season. He logged 14 goals and eight assists in 34 games played in all competitions.
