Rourkela: A tragic incident occurred in Odisha's Sundargarh district on Monday, resulting in one death and injuries to 30 individuals when a mini pick-up van overturned after colliding with a tree, according to police reports.
The accident took place while the van, which was transporting laborers, was en route from Kela to Kindrikela in the Bonai region.
The driver reportedly lost control, leading to the vehicle crashing into a roadside tree before flipping over. This unfortunate event left one person dead and 30 others injured, with 21 of them sustaining serious injuries, as stated by the authorities.
The injured were initially treated at the Bonai sub-divisional hospital, while the 21 individuals in critical condition were transferred to Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH). Subsequently, they were moved to a private facility for advanced care.
Authorities from Bonai police have sent the deceased for a post-mortem examination and have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
