Actress Sheetal Maulik , who is currently essaying the antagonist Ambika in Kabhi Neem Neem Kabhi Shahad Shahad , recently opened up about her unique experience of shooting the Hartalika Teej celebration sequence for the show. Known as one of the most revered festivals for women across North India, Hartalika Teej marks the divine union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati . On this day, married women observe fasts and offer prayers for the well-being of their husbands, while unmarried women seek blessings from Goddess Gauri for an ideal life partner.
Sharing her insights, Sheetal revealed, “I have heard about the festival but never knew about it in detail until we had a Teej sequence in our story. The festival holds great significance in our tradition. On this day, married women observe a strict fast and perform puja rituals to worship Mata Parvati, seeking blessings for their husband’s well-being. Unmarried women also keep the fast, praying for a suitable life partner.”
Talking about the on-set celebrations, the actress expressed, “Recently we celebrated the Teej in our show, and shooting it was so much fun. It’s always enjoyable to celebrate festivals on set because, in real life, we often don’t get the chance to do so.”
The Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin actress also reflected on how her cultural background made the experience special. “Being a Maharashtrian and married into a Bengali family, we don’t celebrate Teej in our tradition. But I got to live that celebration on set, which I feel is one of the perks of being an actor. Though there was drama and ruckus in the storyline, I enjoyed getting dressed differently and experiencing the rituals.”
Concluding on a spiritual note, Sheetal added, “I explored more about the festival through the internet and prayed to Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti to bless me and my husband with peace, happiness, and prosperity. Wishing everyone a blessed Teej filled with joy, devotion, and love.”
On the professional front, Sheetal Maulik has been part of several popular shows, including Meri Bhavya Life, Deewaniyat, Suhaagan, Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka, and Gutur Gu.
