Bollywood has seen countless stars rise to fame and then quietly fade away. Among them was one actor who ruled silver screens as a popular villain in 80s and 90s. Sadly his last years were spent in poverty and the industry barely noticed his death. Well he is none other than Mahesh Anand a well-known figure often cast as a menacing villain due to his towering personality and commanding screen presence. In his prime he acted in many popular films and also shared screen-space with superstars like Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar. Despite his early success his life in later years were marked by poverty obscurity and loneliness. Mahesh Anands life marked by struggles and isolation Mahesh even shared his grief on social media. In a heart-wrenching Facebook post he shared how he had been abandoned by his family and cheated by his stepbrother. My friends and everyone call me an alcoholic. I have no family. My stepbrother has cheated me of Rs 6 crores. I have done more than 300 films but I don’t even have money to buy drinking water. I don’t have a single friend in this world it’s very sad. My son Trishul... God bless you my son... Just hug me before I die. Love you for life. I cry seeing this all day/night… I love you my son Trishul I’m your real papa. I know they changed your name to Anthony Vohra… Please hug me once before I die love you. Love Life and Marriage Despite his success on-screen his personal life was marked by solitude and instability. Mahesh was married five times and reportedly had close relationships with 12 women at different times.  His first marriage was to Barkha Roy sister of actress Reena Roy. He later tied the knot with Erica Maria D’Souza a former Miss India International which ended in divorce. In 1999 he got married to Madhu Malhotra. After 3 failed marriages he married actress Usha Bachani though their relationship ended in separation. His last marriage was with a Russian woman named Lana. Mahesh Anands tragic death In 2019 Maheshs life came to a devastating end. His body was found three days after his death on a sofa with a plate of food and a bottle of alcohol beside him. The exact cause of his death remains unclear but his tragic demise created shockwaves through the entire film fraternity.
