Indian wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson continued his brilliant form in the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) and played another explosive innings against Thrissur Titans in the match played at Trivandrum on Tuesday. Sanju, who landed in the third match for Kochi Blue Tigers, hit 89 runs off just 46 balls, including four fours and nine sixes. His strike rate was more than 193. Thanks to his innings, the team scored 188/7 in the scheduled 20 overs. In bowling, Ajinas of Thrisur took five wickets for 30 runs, performing brilliantly.
Sanju Samson made a spectacular comeback against Erich Kollam Sellers a few days ago, scoring 121 off 51 balls, including 14 fours and seven sixes. In that match, the opposition team scored a huge score of 236/5 thanks to wicketkeeper batsman Vishnu Vinod (94 runs, 41 balls) and captain Sachin Baby (91 runs, 44 balls), which was easily crossed by Samson’s banging innings.
Sanju has scored 223 runs in three matches played so far, his average has been 74.33 and the strike rate has been above 187. This includes a century and a half -century. In his 42 T20 international matches played for India, Samson has scored 861 runs, with three centuries and two half -centuries. For the last one year, his batting has been improved as an opener. He scored three centuries in five innings against Bangladesh and South Africa. In 2024, he was India’s most successful T20 batsman, scoring 436 runs in 12 innings, average 43.60 and the strike rate was 180.16.
Now Samson’s next major assignment Asia Cup will be 2025. India will launch its campaign against UAE in Dubai on 10 September. This will be followed by a high -voltage match against Pakistan on 14 September. India will play the last match of the group stage against Oman in Abu Dhabi on 19 September. However, due to the presence of vice-captain Shubman Gill and wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma in the team, there can be a tough competition in selection about Samson’s place.
