
Former India off-spinner and star player from MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Ravichandran Ashwin called time on his Indian Premier League career on Wednesday (August 27). Ashwin announced his retirement from IPL cricket less than a year after his international retirement bring down the curtain his 15-year-old career in the T20 league. Ashwin made the announcement on the occasion of Indian festival Ganesh Chaturthi and shared the news of his IPL retirement with a message on his social media handles. “Special day and hence a special beginning. They say every ending will have a new start my time as an IPL cricketer comes to a close today but my time as an explorer of the game around various leagues begins today. Would like to thank all the franchisees for all the wonderful memories and relationships over the years and most importantly the @IPL and the @BCCI for what they have given me until now.
