Nimra Mehra, the celebrated Pakistani playback singer known for her soulful voice and captivating stage presence, recently had an unexpected incident during her live performance in Sheikhupura. The singer, who rose to fame with hit songs like Tu Subha in Pak Eve Residents—which has amassed over 73 million views—and numerous OSTs for popular dramas, was forced to stop her concert due to a disruptive fan.
While performing at the Azadi concert in Sheikhupura, Nimra Mehra was repeatedly disturbed by a young man shining a green laser light directly into her eyes. The flashing laser not only distracted her but also posed a potential danger, as laser lights can cause serious eye damage.
Visibly upset by the unruly behavior, Nimra halted her performance and addressed the crowd firmly. “Whosoever is doing this cheap stunt of throwing a green light into my eyes, get lost from here,” she declared, calling on the security team to intervene. She added, “This guy has been disturbing us for quite some time. Security, please check him.” Her bold reaction was captured on video and quickly went viral across social media platforms.
Fans and viewers widely praised Nimra Mehra for standing her ground and not tolerating disrespectful behavior during her performance. Many expressed concerns over the dangers of laser pointers at public events, highlighting that such acts can cause irreversible damage to the eyes and even the skin. “She did the right thing by confronting him immediately,” commented one fan, while others agreed that disrupting an artist’s performance in this way is unacceptable.
Nimra Mehra, with over 2.4 million Facebook followers and one million on Instagram, has built a reputation as a powerful live performer. Her song Tu Subha in Pak Eve Residents became an anthem not just in Pakistan but also among music lovers in India and beyond. The singer has also contributed to the soundtracks of several hit Pakistani dramas and recently participated in Azadi concerts held nationwide.
This incident highlights the challenges artists sometimes face during live performances but also showcases Nimra’s assertiveness in protecting her space and delivering a memorable experience to her fans.
