Amid tensions between India and Pakistan and as the Asia Cup 2025 clash nears, an old video has gone viral where Wasim Akram can be seen dancing with Harbhajan Singh. Sreesanth and Pragyan Ojha are also in the video. This comes amid calls to boycott the Asia Cup and the World Championship of Legends games were cancelled as India refused to play Pakistan. The BCCI also made the government’s stand clear that India would play only ICC and ACC events with Pakistan but no bilaterals.

"The event in the video took place during the Legends League Cricket Masters tournament in Doha, Qatar, around March 20, 2023, likely at a post-final party. It's an older clip that's gone viral recently," stated AI platform Grok.

Fans Angry at Harbhajan Singh

While it was a video that happened before the Pahalgam attack in April this year, fans pointed out that Indian cricketers should have remembered Pulwama in 2019, Uri in 2016 and 26/11 in 2008 before mingling with players or former players from Pakistan.

The fans’ displeasure could be understood as it was not in a good light. India and Pakistan shall be playing for the first time since military escalations took place and the scars are still fresh from the loss of life in the recent terror attack.

India vs Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025

The legendary Akram hopes that neither side crosses the line during the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 clash. He wants to see an entertaining contest when the two sides face off in Dubai. There is the chance they could meet again in the Super 4s and possibly even the final. No Asia Cup has ever had an India vs Pakistan final. India are the defending champions having won the 2023 edition. Pakistan have not won it since 2012.

"I am sure these matches will be entertaining, just like all other India-Pakistan matches. But I hope both the players and the fans will remain disciplined and not cross the line. If Indians are patriotic and want their team to win, the same goes for Pakistani fans. India have been in better form recently and will start as favourites, but the team that handles pressure best on the day will win," Akram said while speaking to Telecom Asia Sport.
