Google has unveiled a new photo editing tool named Nano Banana in its Gemini app. The tool was created by Google DeepMind. It has been described during testing to be one of the worlds best image-editing tools. All Gemini users can access the tool easily. Recently Google CEO Sundar Pichai tweeted three banana emojis on the social platform X which many took as a hint at promoting the Nano Banana editing app. What exactly is Nano Banana? Who developed Nano Banana and how is it connected to Google Gemini? It is to be noted that Nano Banana is a code name for Googles new AI-powered photo-editing tool which has now formally been released as Gemini 2.5 Flash Image. The photos celebrated International Dog Day reimagining Jeffree in various fun roles and scenarios — from surfing waves wearing a cowboy hat becoming a superhero to even dressing as a chef. In order to use Nano Banana users upload their image to the Gemini app and then in a prompt tell how they want it revised. Nano Banana will transform the photo but maintain faces and original items. With Nano Banana one can add new clothing or vintage fashions to ones photo. For example if you want to see yourself in a superhero costume the tool can generate it for you. You can also change the background of your photo — from a classroom to the ocean for instance. The app can also join lots of photos. For example if you want to see yourself and your pet in the same frame Nano Banana can do that. This means you can merge two separate images into a single photo that looks completely realistic.
