Health Tips: Digestive problems are becoming quite common, in such a situation, gastroenterologist Dr. Sethi, while talking about food facts, said that nuts like walnuts, almonds and cashews are rich in healthy fats and proteins, which help in keeping the memory better.
Gastroenterologist Dr. Saurabh Sethi has recently revealed nine important facts related to digestive health, which can change people's perceptions about everyday food. Dr. Sethi especially described light green bananas as the most beneficial for digestion. These green bananas contain resistant starch, which acts like fiber and promotes good bacteria, which improves the health of our intestines. In contrast, fully ripe bananas contain more sugar, which is not as beneficial for digestion.
In addition, she also mentioned some common eligible foods that provide many benefits to the digestive system and the body. For example, rice when cooled and reheated, increases resistant starch, which helps control blood sugar and promotes good digestion. Blue and red berries (such as blueberries, strawberries) are rich in antioxidants that reduce inflammation and keep the heart and brain healthy.
Chia seeds are small but nutritious seeds that contain omega-3, fiber and protein. They relieve constipation, control appetite, and help with heart health. Yogurt is a good source of probiotics, which balance gut bacteria and improve digestion.
Dr. Sethi also said that nuts like walnuts, almonds, and cashews are rich in healthy fats and proteins, which help in improving memory. Also, green leafy vegetables like spinach, kale are helpful in removing toxins from the body and increasing iron.
Using extra virgin olive oil instead of ultrafiltered oil is beneficial for heart health. And most importantly, drinking the right amount of water, which improves digestion and makes the skin glow.
Dr. Sethi believes that there is no need for expensive superfoods or supplements, but by making small changes in everyday food, we can improve our health and digestion.
