Police search home of Vietnamese football club president amid accounting investigation

The residence of Cao Tien Doan, president of Dong A Thanh Hoa FC, was raided by police following reports of alleged accounting violations with serious consequences.

At 9 p.m. on Thursday, hundreds of officers from Thanh Hoa provincial police conducted a search of Doan’s home in Sam Son Ward in central Vietnam. Simultaneously, the police searched the headquarters of Dong A Company on Le Loi Avenue in Hac Thanh Ward.

The Thanh Hoa Police Investigation Agency has not yet disclosed the exact reason for the search, but indicated it followed public reports accusing Doan of illegal activities.

Authorities suspect Doan may be involved in accounting violations that have caused significant consequences.

By 1 a.m. on Friday, the search continued at both locations. Police brought in several trucks to transport computers and documents seized from Dong A headquarters.

In addition to his role as General Director of Dong A Real Estate Group LLC, Doan serves as a delegate on the Economic and Budget Committee of the Thanh Hoa People’s Council, Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Business Association, and President of Dong A Thanh Hoa FC.
