The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a strong response to its newly launched FASTag Annual Pass, which recorded more than 5 lakh buyers within just the first four days of its release. According to the official statement, the initiative has seen enthusiastic adoption from highway users nationwide. Tamil Nadu emerged as the state with the highest number of annual pass purchases, followed by Karnataka and Haryana. Additionally, the maximum number of FASTag transactions through the annual pass were recorded at toll plazas in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.

FASTag Annual Pass Offers Cost-Effective, Convenient Highway Travel

The FASTag Annual Pass provides commuters with up to 200 toll crossings or one year of validity, whichever comes first. Designed to reduce the hassle of frequent payments, it enables smooth, contactless transactions similar to the existing FASTag system. Importantly, current FASTag users are not required to get a new tag; instead, they can upgrade their existing one to the annual subscription, ensuring a seamless transition under the new scheme.

Priced at ₹3,000, the pass can be purchased through multiple payment options such as UPI, credit cards, and net banking. Once the annual limit of 200 tolls or the one-year validity is exhausted, users can recharge the pass in the same manner as the standard FASTag.

For those wishing to subscribe, the FASTag Annual Pass can be purchased via the Rajmarg Yatra mobile app or through the NHAI/MoRTH websites by entering vehicle details and the FASTag ID. Users must ensure their FASTag is active, correctly affixed, and linked to the registered vehicle number before initiating the ₹3,000 payment. Once the process is completed and confirmed, the pass becomes active immediately, offering commuters convenience and efficiency on national highways.
