In the recent past, to make digital payments easier, the facility of making UPI payments from credit cards has also been available. Right now, you can make UPI payments directly from most RuPay credit cards. Earlier, this facility was linked only to debit cards and bank accounts. However, now UPI payments can also be made from the credit cards of select banks. To step it up, you have to follow some steps. Let's learn about it...
How to make a UPI payment from a credit card
First, open your UPI app like PhonePe, Google Pay, or Paytm.
Now you have to add a new 'Add Payment Method' here.
After this, on selecting the bank, you will get the option to link the credit card.
However, currently, UPI payment is supported only on most RuPay credit cards.
After linking the credit card to the UPI app, set a new UPI PIN.
Now you will also see 'Credit Card' instead of 'Bank Account' while making any merchant payment.
From here, you can choose the payment method you want.
You will not be able to send money to a normal user.
However, keep in mind that this facility is available only for merchant payments. This means that you can make payments from a credit card through UPI only to shops, online shopping, or any businessman. If the other person does not have a merchant account, then you will not be able to make a payment from a credit card through UPI. There, you can make a payment only from the bank.
How will this benefit you?
Nowadays, you get the QR code for merchant payment at every shop, that is, you can easily make payment at these shops through UPI with a credit card. This will give you more flexibility in payment. Also, the use of credit card in the banking system will increase more. Apart from this, small traders will also be able to easily take digital payments.
