Amethyst presents “Making” by Medha. The collection is an ode to her design process—chaotic, intuitive, obsessive and deeply personal. The collections include sarees, blouses, lehengas, kurtas, kurta sets, dupattas, jewellery and juttis from 11.00am to 7.30pm from September 4th to 7th, 2025 at Amethyst, Whites Road, Royapettah, Chennai 600 014. Ph: 044 45991630 /31. Approximate Price Range: Rs.20,000/- onwards
Designer Medha Bansal approaches each garment as art, where surface design comes first, the sketches and silhouettes follow. “I must want to wear it—live in it, move in it, dance in it—before it makes it to the racks,” she says. This collection emerged slowly, intentionally, with blinders on—built on long walks, looped music, early mornings, and a quiet refusal to settle for anything less than electric. From sourcing oxidised metal bits and beads, aging them with petrol to get the perfect vintage silver patina, to obsessing over sampling swatches with her karigars for hours, Making reflects Medha’s uncompromising eye for detail and her relentless pursuit of originality
True to her language, the collection reinterprets traditional craft—placement bandhni motifs in different sizes, tie-dye and mirrors meet lace, lightweight silks and organza placements are manipulated for movement, lightness, and comfort. Every piece is sketched, refined, re-drawn, and fit-tested to feel timeless, joyful, and like a second skin.
Inspired by the functionality of styling, the collection features looks designed for the real lives of women – clothes you can imagine dressing up or down, mix and match and re-wear a whole lot! Only pieces the designer herself would reach for—today, tomorrow, or years from now.
At its heart, Making is a celebration of design as lived experience, of Indian craft reimagined, and of the quiet but radical idea that the most meaningful clothing begins with what feels true.

Brand Note – Medha
Medha is a craft and process led label by designer Medha Bansal, built on surface design and intelligent detailing. Born out of an obsession with texture, colour contrasts, detail, and individuality, the brand reimagines Indian craft through intuitive design, mindful making, and a love for imperfection and process. Every piece begins with exploration of surface techniques and design—and often features repurposed scrap fabric, tactile contrasts, earthy tones, resist dyeing techniques, unexpected fabric juxtapositions and placement of hand-done embellishments. The clothing is lightweight, fuss free and designed to be worn with ease and joy. Crafted to be collected and worn for years to come, Medha champions an India super rich in textile heritage—revived not by nostalgia, but by making it cool, current, and deeply personal again.
Designer Profile – Medha Bansal
Medha Bansal, a NIFT Delhi graduate, is a designer led by instinct, emotion, and a lot of love for craft. Medha’s process is raw and process-heavy—built on early morning walks, local market wanderings, long sampling sessions, and quiet introspection – where a design is only complete when it feels honest to her body, her eye, and her experience. Her work is defined by subtle contrasts, layered textures, and craft reinterpretation. She combines craft techniques, colours and fabrics in ways that are unexpected. Medha designs only what she would wear—clothes that move with you, lift you, and become a part of your personal story.
