Vernon Kay has cheekily suggested that Rylan Clark is "a bit off the rails" during a laugh-filled conversation with Scott Mills on air, as the pair discussed their pre-festival shenanigans ahead of BBC Radio 2 in the Park.
The festival is taking place at Hylands Park in Chelmsford, delivering three days of spectacular live performances from some of the globe's most beloved pop icons, kicking off with DJ sets featuring Rylan Clark and Scott Mills.
During this morning's Breakfast programme, Scott revealed that he and Rylan had recently enjoyed an evening together in preparation for the festival, accompanied by vocalist Ella Henderson, warming up with some karaoke favourites.

"Doing the warm-up. Me and Rylan and Ella Henderson, doing some karaoke classics," Scott chuckled. "I was like, 'They're not gonna sing on a Tuesday night.' I was wrong. I was wrong."
Intrigued about what transpired following the singing session, Vernon enquired: "And where did you and Rylan end up?" reports the Manchester Evening News.

Scott was swift to dismiss any speculation of a raucous evening out. "We went straight home," he maintained – before playfully adding: "Ask me again on Friday. No, no, ask me on Saturday, and I'll probably have a different story. But we actually did go home. Like responsible adults that we are."
Vernon confessed he's "obsessed" with the pair's friendship, telling Scott: "I know a lot of people are excited about the lineup for BBC Radio 2 in the Park. I'm more excited about you two. It's something that showbiz needs – it's quite special."
Scott playfully ribbed Vernon in return, remarking: "You've got a strange fascination with our partnership. I reckon you believe we're a bad influence on one another."
Vernon didn't mince his words: "I've witnessed it firsthand. Well, Rylan's a bit, yeah, off the rails."
Scott chuckled, admitting how roles have reversed: "That used to be me, but now it's him. He's doing the leading."

Vernon quipped that Scott now assumes the sensible role, observing: "I like the fact that every now and again you just say, 'Wind it in, love.'"
Scott concurred, revealing that his plea had to be made once more just last night: "Oh, that happened again last night. There was a whole monologue going on about his trousers. I was like, not in front of the audience, please. He needs to go a size up. That's all I'll say."
The festival, which last year featured acts including Sting, Pet Shop Boys and Snow Patrol at Preston's Moor Park, will be held at Hylands Park in Chelmsford, Essex, from Friday, September 5, to Sunday, September 7.
Revealing the venue on Radio 2, presenter Rylan Clark declared: "I can't wait to welcome my Radio 2 family to Chelmsford and have this year's Radio 2 In The Park right on my doorstep.
"If there's one thing I know for certain, it's that an Essex crowd know how to party. See you all in Hylands Park."
