There was a discussion around the world that Google had sent an "emergency warning" to 2.5 billion Gmail users due to a security threat. But the company denied all these claims in its official blog on Tuesday.

Google said, "We want to assure our users that Gmail's security is strong and effective. Recently, many false claims were made that we sent a warning to all Gmail users about a major security problem. This is completely wrong."

Google's trust in security
The company said that its security system is working continuously and prevents more than 99.9% of phishing and malware attempts. That is, users do not need to be bothered by such false claims.

Confusion related to Salesforce data leak
Reports said that Google has issued a warning to all users after the recent Salesforce data breach. In fact, Google had informed about the phishing attack in June and updated on August 8 to say that the affected users had been informed. This was falsely made news of sending a warning to all users.

Google's advice to users

Google also said in the blog post that its teams constantly invest and innovate in security. Also, the company advised users to move beyond passwords and adopt secure options like Passkeys.
