Cert-in reported that a serious flaw has been found in the iOS and Macos version of Whatsapp. This flaw is associated with linked device handling. According to the report, if an attacker takes advantage of this weakness, then he can reach their private chats and sensitive data by clicking on the fake or massage link.

Whatsapp for iOS’s older version from 2.25.21.73

Whatsapp Business for iOS’s 2.25.21.78 old version

Users using these versions are the highest threat. CERT-in advised that all users should immediately update their app in the latest version.

Double attack threat

CERT-in also stated that this weakness is alone dangerous, but if it is used by mixing with each other garden (CVE-2025-43300) of Apple, then attackers can be more powerful. This means that hackers find many ways to steal user data.
