M6 traffic RECAP: Major motorway closed as police rush to the scene
Reach Daily Express | September 7, 2025 2:39 PM CST

Motorists were urged to seek a different route as a "welfare incident" prompted the closure of a stretch of the busy M6. The northbound carriageway in Warwickshire between the M1/A14 and junction 1 was blocked, while the southbound was closed between junction 2 for Coventry and junction 1 for Rugby.
National Highways said this was due a "Police-led incident", with Warwickshire Police confirming it had officers in attendance "following a concern for welfare incident". Traffic started being released around less than an hour later as the incident was "resolved", National Highways said. The Express has contacted Warwickshire Police for further comment.
