How to fresh curry leaves without fridge?
1. Water magic
This is one of the easiest and effective methods.
- First of all wash the stalks of curry leaves thoroughly.
- Now take a glass of glass or a small vessel and fill some water in it.
- Keep curry leaves stalks in this water glass like you keep flowers in bouquets.
- Put this glass near your kitchen window or in a place where there is no direct sunlight, but there are some light.
- Keep changing glass water every other day. In this way, your curry leaves will remain fresh for 8 to 10 days.
2. Wrap in paper
If you have high quantity of curry leaves, then this method will work for you.
- Separate the leaves from the stalk, but they do not have to wash them. (Remember, moisture is the biggest enemy of leaves)
- Now take a plain paper or newspaper.
- Spread the leaves on this paper and wrap it well and make it like a bundle.
- Put this bundle in a dry and cold place. The fridge is not needed. This will not make the leaves black and will last longer.
3. Dry and store in the air
This method is the best to store leaves for a long time.
- Wash the curry leaves and wipe it well with a clean cloth, so that there is no water in them at all.
- Now spread these leaves in a plate or tray and keep it in the shade for 2-3 days. Do not dry in direct sunlight, otherwise their fragrance will fly away.
- When the leaves dry completely and become crisp, fill them in an airtight compartment.
- Whenever you need, just take out some leaves and use it. Their taste and fragrance will remain intact for months.
