A shocking incident has been reported from Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh, where a newly-wed wife allegedly thrashed her husband for not bringing her samosas. The video of the assault has gone viral on social media.

Police have registered a case against the woman and her family members based on a complaint filed by the husband's relatives.

According to reports, Shivam, a resident of Bhagwantapur village in Puranpur Kotwali area, married Sangeeta on 22 May. On the evening of 29 August, Sangeeta asked her husband to bring hot samosas. Shivam claimed that the money he had for the snacks got lost on the way, and therefore he returned empty-handed.

This led to a heated argument between the couple. Sangeeta refused to eat food and soon after, called her relatives, her aunts Sarla and Vimla, along with her uncles Ram Avtar and Dhaniram. Together, they allegedly beat up Shivam badly. His mother Vijay Kumari and brother-in-law Ramkaran were also attacked.

Later, a panchayat was organized at the house of former village head Awadhesh Sharma to resolve the issue. However, Sangeeta's relatives reportedly attacked Shivam and his family again during the meeting. They allegedly beat Shivam with belts, leaving him and his brother-in-law seriously injured.

Following the incident, Shivam's family filed a complaint with the police. The Puranpur Kotwali police have registered a case against Sangeeta, her aunts Sarla and Vimla, and her uncles Ram Avtar and Dhaniram. Officials said the matter is under investigation.
