

Nepal gen z protest: Thousands of youths have protested against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli (KP Sharma Oli) government in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu and many other social media bans including Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and YouTube. During the protest, some people also reached Parliament House. At the same time, in view of this situation, the government has implemented curfew in Kathmandu.

Thousands of protesters gathered in the capital Kathmandu include the most youth. This is the reason why this movement is being called ‘Gen-Z Revolution’. In this, students and especially the new generation of youth are raising their voice against the government.

The Oli government banned a total of 26 social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp, Redit and X on 4 September. Since then, the youth were demanding the removal of the ban on these apps. However, thousands of youth protested in several cities including the capital Kathmandu on Monday when there was no initiative from the government. Even in Kathmandu, several protesters broke the police barricades and crossed the gate and entered the Parliament complex.
