IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Jaideep Dang as head of development, South West Asia.
The hospitality chain said in his new role, Dang will be responsible for driving IHG’s growth strategy across the region and will report directly to Sudeep Jain, MD, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts.
Dang brings with him over 22 years of experience in the hospitality and real estate sectors. He joins IHG from JLL India, where, as Managing Director – Hotels & Hospitality Group, he led the advisory and transactions business for India and South Asia.
IHG said under his leadership, the business established a 'market leading' position in hotel investment sales, and built a 'strong', 'high-performing' team recognised for delivering 'outstanding' advisory on hotel project feasibilities, valuations, management contracts, and development strategies. Prior to JLL, Dang spent eight years with The Oberoi Group as senior vice president, Strategic Development.
India is a priority growth market for IHG, the company said. Earlier this year, the company celebrated the milestone opening of its 50th hotel in the country and has a pipeline of over 70 hotels across luxury, premium and mainstream segments in high-potential cities. With an ambition to operate 100 hotels in India in next 3 – 5 years, IHG said it remains 'deeply committed' to growing meaningfully across both established and emerging destinations.
“We are delighted to welcome Jaideep to IHG Hotels & Resorts. His extensive expertise, industry relationships, and proven leadership will be invaluable as we continue to accelerate our growth and strengthen our presence in South West Asia. I am confident Jaideep will play a significant role in shaping and executing our development strategy in the region," said Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts.
Jaideep Dang, head of development, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said he is excited to join IHG Hotels & Resorts at such a dynamic time for the hospitality industry in the region. "IHG’s strong brand portfolio, global scale, and commitment to driving owner returns provide a great foundation for growth. I look forward to working closely with our partners and the talented team at IHG to drive meaningful expansion and create exceptional value for owners and guests across the region," he added.
IHG currently has 51 hotels operating across six brands in India, including Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn Express and a pipeline of 72 hotels due to open in the next three to five years.
